In Ireland, a Shebeen was an after-hours speakeasy where once inside, you could find good familiar conversation, friends, food, and drink. Fascinating history surrounds these pubs, and will forever be a part of Irish lore. We bring the spirit of the Shebeens to Fairfax.
The Auld Shebeen is Fairfax City’s only authentic Irish Pub and Restaurant. Our menu combines traditional Irish recipes and American cuisines. We offer many Traditional Irish dishes such as Fish and Chips, Shepherd’s Pie, and our signature Guinness Beef Stew, as well as a few house specialties such as BBQ Ribs and Braised Lamb Shank. We also offer a special Brunch menu every Sunday from 11 AM-3 PM.
There’s plenty to do here at the Shebeen. Every Friday and Saturday night we host great Live Traditional Irish Music in the Restaurant starting at 7. On Saturday afternoons, local musicians treat us to a quiet Trad. Session, and every Tuesday we host Pub Quiz Night starting at 8.
We also feature a lower-level area called “The Cellar”. Able to accommodate 200 guests, it’s the perfect place to host parties and get-togethers. The Cellar is also a great late-night venue, hosting live bands and DJ’s every weekend, as well as Karaoke every Tuedsay!
